I will be holding a Transit of Venus viewing party the night of June 5 in San Diego. I will probably set up my BIG Celestron 25×100 astronomical binoculars. I may go out to Mount Laguna, along Sunrise Highway, for better viewing. This is a GREAT opportunity to participate in some astronomy and see something that will not happen again in our lifetimes (unless you’re born very soon and live to be 105).
I will also be speaking on Venus, what we know about it, and what transits like this one have taught us in our quest to find extrasolar planets. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting event.
