There isn’t much about this iconic photo that hasn’t already been said. It, more than anything other than the Earthrise photo, defines our place in the Universe. It is for this reason that the photo moves me to tears every time I see it. It is also why I love astronomy so much – our problems are so utterly insignificant compared to the questions we have about our Universe.
