I was just about to write a blog about the BEAUTIFUL alignment of the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter last night

and then I checked out my Facebook page and saw this article:

It turns out that I was just working on something last night on this same subject. If the density of star systems within the neighborhood of the Sun is one star system per 120 cubic light years, and we started transmitting radio signals, which travel at the speed of light, in 1925, it would take until 2231 for our radio signals to reach one million star systems. And, if we assume that there is one technologically advanced, intelligent life inhabited civilization per one million star systems, it means that it could be a little while before it “hears” one of our first signals, and knows that we’re out here. Isn’t this cool?
