I wonder if this will prompt Seth Shostak, of the SETI Institute and whom I have met, to release a new edition of his book, “Life in the Universe.” It was the text for my class of the same name while studying for my Masters at the University of North Dakota. It contains a detailed explanation of the process of chemicals forming amino acids, then becoming proteins which form the seeds of life. I would be very interested in reading a new edition of the book.
