A very special shout out and congratulations to Julian, California on its designation as an International Dark Sky Association community.
I have spoken with the organizer of the effort, Doug, and I typically stargaze not far from this bucolic mountain community famous for dark skies and apples. Becoming an IDSA site is an enormous deal, not just for astronomers. Wildlife benefits and humans are able to better enjoy nature and nocturnal animals.
