The European Southern Observatory just released a photo and story about the President of the Czech Republic visiting there several years ago. He got to view NGC 3244, in Antlia, far into the Southern Hemisphere.
It is truly unfortunate that this galaxy is not visible from Northern latitudes, as it would be phenomenal to be able to see this. SkyClops (TM ) provide this level of resolution, but it would still be amazing to be able to say that you observed this with your own two eyes.
