Wouldn’t this be cool? I am also very sincerely hoping that it means broadband can be had while out stargazing. I use my phone as a WiFi hot spot, but can’t get enough signal at my favorite observing locations to be able to have an internet connection. It bums, because sometimes I want to look up data on a galaxy group, Messier object, or planetary nebula, and I don’t have what I’m looking for in the star charts and astronomy books I brought with me. It would also be very helpful for keeping tabs on the weather. I’ve been surprised by mountain weather more than once, and didn’t particularly enjoy the experience. Broadband Internet access in remote areas, where cell phone towers are hard to build because of terrain and environmental concerns, would solve these problems.
