Mission Control Center 50th Anniversary

June 4, 2015 By Sandy Eulitt

For all the things I know about space and astronomy, I did not know this. I knew that the land for Johnson Space Center in Houston was donated by nearby Rice University, but I did not know that Mission Control was just turning 50. I thought it had been around longer than that, since just shortly after NASA was formed in Oct., 1958.

I guess you really do learn something new every day.
